'Fishing for Dreams'. This mural was to be fun, including all ages of the community who use the library, and as a direct point to the library's entry. The design is fun, full of adventure and imagination, and each wall (including the exterior) is connected through the strings looping up from the start and then down through the bushes, lifting everything off the ground. I am a Perth-based professional artist since 2009, working in all mediums, from oil paints on canvas to illustrated children’s books. I am also a 2D/3D animator with over 23 years of experience. My artwork has always been referred to as bright, colourful, fun, entertaining and uplifting. The opportunity to create public murals to be enjoyed by all ages and demographics, incorporating a connection between nature and community, appeals greatly to the type of art I love to create!
With my strong, recognizable style and the ability to adapt to the level of sophistication required to suit individual projects, I’m always looking forward to new and interesting opportunities and locations to continue building my public and personalized art portfolio throughout Australia. Many of my government and private murals have involved working with the community and children during the design process. I enjoy the ideas children bring to my art and encouraging their creativity when showing it transform into a mural.
My two most recent large murals in 2022 are in; Hillary’s Boat Harbour, WA; this covered a number of different spaces, including a staircase and anchor, and then my largest artwork to date is the GrainCorp Silos at Quirindri. Incorporating an animated light show with the collaboration of Illuminart with the Grand Opening in January 2023.
