Inspired by the local Kookaburras in the Perth hills, this piece celebrates the native flora and fauna in our beautiful community.
Tay Beynon is the artist and owner behind Meraki Boho, a Perth-based business dedicated to making art and creative outlets more accessible to the community in a fun, social and safe environment. Tay facilitates regular painting workshops and art clubs and creates unique commission pieces and murals.
Tay has a strong passion for and specialises in native flora and fauna, botanicals, and hand lettering. She loves using neutral colour schemes to create a sense of calm and serenity, inspired by her home nestled in the Perth hills and surrounded by nature.
She has always loved creating art from an early age and pursued this as her full-time career after using it as her outlet for mental health and well-being. Once Tay fully understood how art cleared her mind and made her feel, she knew that this was the career path she wanted to take to live her happiest and healthiest life.
She quit her job, and Meraki Boho was born. Tay's workshops are process-based over product-based, prioritising experiences to calm the mind, inspire self-care, and advocate the benefits of art to others. She hopes to portray her love for art, helping others, positive mental health and nature through her mural work to inspire others to follow their passions.
